This position is responsible for organizing all District training for both Basic Lay Speaker courses, and continuing education courses for certification of Advanced Lay Speaking. This involves securing teachers for the courses, as well as place and times for the courses. There are two Basic Lay Speaker courses, and two Advanced Lay Speaker courses given each year. Each course should be approximately 10 hours in length (although discretion may shorten or lengthen course as needed). The Director is also responsible for tracking names of persons attending all courses and issuing certificates as they are earned. The Director also coordinates course evaluation sheets, which are completed by the attendees, to be forwarded to the District Office.
